NZSOP Tournaments

NZSOP is proud to introduce an all-new format for 2012. Our aim is to bring you more tournaments, more prizes, more poker, and more fun in 2012.

$3000 Season Final

The top 10 qualifiers from each NZSOP venue are invited to play in the Season Final, with $3000 cash to be won on the day. This is our showpiece event and is a true test of poker playing ability, with 100+ players and over 8 hours of poker action. The top 16 players at the Season Final will also win points towards the 2012 'Final 9' (see below).

$500 Season Final Satellite

If you missed out on making the $3000 Season Final but finished agonizingly close to the top 10 at your venue, do not despair. The new revamped satellite tournament is for you. Any player that finishes in the top 20 at any NZSOP venue is invited to the Season Final Satellite where 20 entries to the $1000 Season Final will be up for grabs. And if you've already qualified for the Season Final you're invited to play in this tournament to win your share of the $500 cash. That's two cash tournaments with a $3500 total prize pool over two awesome days of poker! 2012 'Final 9' points are also up for grabs at this tournament.

Champions Tournament

This special tournament is for those NZSOP players that stand out from the pack. The winner of each venue plus the Top 15 in the National Rankings at the end of each season are invited to play in the Champions Tournament, where points towards the 2012 'Final 9' are up for grabs. Test yourself against the best and claim your place in the 'Final 9'.

2012 'Final 9'

New for 2012 NZSOP is proud to bring you the latest and greatest innovation in kiwi pub poker. 1 table, 9 players, $5000 winner-take-all. Only the best of the best will make it to the table, and only the best (and luckiest?) of them will rise to claim the $5000 cash prize. Throughout 2012 points will be up for grabs at the Season Finals, Satellite Tournaments, Champions Tournaments, and Special Tournaments (see below). Your first chance to get on the 'Final 9' leader board is the Season One Finals on April 14th/15th. Think you've got what it takes?

The NZSOP Final 9 is the pinnacle of free poker in New Zealand. It's a final table with a winner take all prize (no deals allowed).
It will be filmed and edited into NZSOP's first Final 9 online video. To qualify for the Final 9 you must earn 'Final 9 Points' throughout 2012. These are earned in the following way:

Points are awarded based on the number of players each player beat on the day respectively.
So if there were 153 players in the tournament, 1st receives 152 points, 2nd receives 151 points and so on, down to 16th.
